The A.P. Jones Legacy Fish Hoek

Albert Pascoe Jones

The Fish Hoek Historical Society Association invites you to their monthly talk on “The A.P. Jones Legacy.

In the early 1920s Mr AP Jones started out on a journey that created the legendary AP Jones brand when he arrived and settled in the village of Fish Hoek, initially working as a travelling sales rep for a departmental store in Cape Town. Spending months away from home and his family was not what he desired so he bought a grocery shop in Parker’s building, Kommetjie Road. At a point in time he opened a drapery shop as well and operated both shops from one building.

To celebrate the rest of the story and his legacy, come and listen to Mrs Jenny Bing who will give a talk and slide show on her late father “AP”.

A prize will be awarded at the start of the talk for the person who guesses the correct name of the departmental store for which he worked and another prize for guessing the correct answer to the street address of AP’s second business premises.

Venue and Time: Fish Hoek Library Hall at 17:45 for 18h00 til 19:00. Fee: Association Members free. Non-members R5-00. Beverages (wine/fruit juice) and treats courtesy our partner The Windsor Restaurant and Pick ‘n Pay Family Store, Fish Hoek.
