South African Jewish Year Book 1929 – (Download) 18MB
There have been Jews in South Africa for much longer than is usually supposed. The pioneering achievements of the early South African Jews were considerable, and not a little of the early material development and expansion of this country was due to their indefatigable efforts. In addition, those, for the most part English and German Jews, some of whom arrived at the Cape over a hundred years ago, laid effective foundations of a Jewish life which has continued to grow and flourish.
This is the first South African Jewish Year Book, an important historical milestone. It is a fountain of information, and is a source of moral pride. Over 700 Biographies.
