Join the Whale of Heritage Route in the Historical Hunt from the Old Muizenberg Village to Kalk Bay. Discover the nooks and crannies of this historical piece of coastline in a race against time.

Families and individuals are invited to join A Whale Of A Heritage Route on Monday 17 December 2012 for a historical hunt on foot between the old Muizenberg Village and Kalk Bay. Photographic clues will introduce you to the nooks and crannies of this historic coastline. Be prepared for an “ambush” clue as well as decoys designed to mislead, distract and waste your time.

Start Time/Assembly Point:17 December 2012 -  08h50 for 09h00 at the junction of Church and Palmer Roads, old Muizenberg Village. Optional coffee at the start.

Finish Time/Debrief Point: 13h00 at the entrance to Kalk Bay Railway Station. Optional snack at the end.
Tools: Bring along a magnifying glass. A smart phone will be invaluable but not essential.
Prize: A meal voucher for two at an eatery in the old Village will be awarded to the winning team.

Degree Of Difficulty: This as an easy event and is wheelchair, pram and guide dog friendly.
Walking Shoes: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the event which stretches over two miles ie between the old 15 and 17 mile pegs.

Fee: R45pp. Children aged between 5 and 12 half price. Toddlers free.

Refreshments and Snacks Before, During and After The Event: It is advisable to bring along cash for refreshments and snacks. (PS the last time I was in Kalk bay none of the ATM’s worked)
